Musikgarten / Kinder Music Musikgarten and Kinder Music programs provide music classes for young children from newborn to four years of age in 15-week sessions, and special sessions during the summer. All classes include instruction in movement, singing and listening skills, as well as rhythm with percussion instruments, ear training, and music literacy. The MusikGarten curriculum is rich in musical and cultural content that children can take home from class and enjoy with their whole family every day. Classes offer developmentally appropriate music activities involving the whole child – the child’s desire for language, the body’s urge to move, the brain’s attraction to patterns, the ear’s lead in initiating communication, the voices’ response to sounds as well as the eye-hand coordination associated with simple instrument play. Adults enjoy the opportunity to play with their child in a musical setting, experiencing music and movement activities designed to delight the child and awaken curiosity about music. Singing, dancing, finger plays, bouncing and rocking activities nurture the child’s innate musical ability laying a foundation for beat awareness, vocal production and aural discrimination as they grow. Susan has been trained in the MusikGarten method and is fully licensed and certified. Classes are available for babies, toddlers and preschoolers from three to five years old. |
